The Center for Environmental Studies and Disaster Management (PSLHMB) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Mataram

The Center for Environmental Studies and Disaster Management (PSLHMB) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Mataram is dedicated to research, consultancy, education, and community service, focusing on environmental sustainability and disaster risk reduction. PSLHMB integrates scientific research, policy analysis, and community empowerment to address evolving environmental and disaster-related challenges at local, regional, and national levels.

Through interdisciplinary collaboration with government agencies, industry, academic institutions, and local communities, PSLHMB develops evidence-based solutions that support regional and national development goals. PSLHMB also actively contributes to public policy formulation and institutional capacity building. Our Core Focus Areas

Studi Lingkungan

Focuses on comprehensive environmental research, assessment, and monitoring to understand ecological conditions, analyze human impacts, and support sustainable, science-based natural resource management for long-term environmental protection and responsible development.

Disaster Management

Focuses on disaster risk assessment, preparedness planning, mitigation strategies, emergency response, and recovery programs through integrated, data-driven, and community-based approaches to strengthen resilience and reduce social, economic, and environmental losses.

Community Outreach

Focuses on community education, capacity building, public engagement, and participatory programs to enhance environmental awareness, disaster preparedness, and social responsibility while encouraging active involvement in sustainable development initiatives.

History & Journey of PSLHMB

PSLHMB didirikan sebagai respons terhadap meningkatnya degradasi lingkungan dan risiko bencana di Nusa Tenggara dan Indonesia. Sejak didirikan, pusat ini telah aktif terlibat dalam penelitian ilmiah, bantuan kebijakan, konsultasi teknis, dan pembangunan kapasitas masyarakat dalam pengelolaan lingkungan dan bencana. Dengan mengintegrasikan keahlian akademis dengan pengalaman lapangan praktis, PSLHMB mempromosikan pengambilan keputusan berbasis bukti dan pembangunan inklusif. Melalui pendekatan interdisipliner dan kolaborasi yang kuat dengan lembaga pemerintah, sektor swasta, dan masyarakat setempat, pusat ini berkontribusi untuk memperkuat perlindungan lingkungan, ketahanan terhadap bencana, dan pembangunan berkelanjutan di tingkat lokal, regional, dan nasional.
